How to Prepare Based on MSBSHSE Class 10 Exam Pattern

Preparation for MSBSHSE SSC 2027 should reflect the exam's actual structure. Focus time where the marks are, and align practice to the specific question types each subject uses. These tips are drawn directly from the pattern, not generic study advice.

MSBSHSE Class 10 Exam Pattern 2027

Each subject in the MSBSHSE Class 10 2027 exam carries 100 marks. The written theory exam is for 80 marks, and internal assessment or practicals account for 20 marks.

With 6 compulsory subjects, the total aggregate is 600 marks. The Best of 5 policy means only 500 marks count toward the final percentage.

Question Paper Structure

The MSBSHSE SSC 2027 question paper includes several question types. These are MCQs, Fill in the Blanks, Very Short Answer, Short Answer Type I and II, Long Answer, Activity-based questions, and Diagram or Map-based questions.

The exact distribution follows the official subject blueprint released by MSBSHSE.

Exam Mode and Duration

The MSBSHSE Class 10 exam 2027 is conducted in offline mode. Students write the exam with pen on paper at a designated examination centre.

Each paper is 3 hours (180 minutes) long. For Mathematics and Science and Technology, the 3-hour sitting covers both sub-parts — Algebra and Geometry together within the same Mathematics paper, and both Science parts in the same Science sitting.

Marking Scheme

There is no negative marking in the MSBSHSE SSC 2027 exam. Wrong or unattempted answers score zero marks.

Students should attempt every question, including all MCQs, without any risk of losing marks for incorrect answers.

MSBSHSE Class 10 Grading System

MSBSHSE uses a nine-point grading scale for the Class 10 exam. Students need at least 35% in each subject to pass.

  • A1: 91–100%
  • A2: 81–90%
  • B1: 71–80%
  • B2: 61–70%
  • C1: 51–60%
  • C2: 41–50%
  • D: 35–40%
  • E1 or E2: Below 35% (fail grade)

Best of 5 Rule

The Best of 5 rule means MSBSHSE calculates the final percentage using marks from the top 5 performing subjects out of the 6 compulsory subjects. Students must sit all 6 exams, but only the 5 highest-scoring subjects contribute to the overall percentage.

Internal Assessment Marks

Internal assessment marks (20 per subject) are awarded by the school throughout the academic year. These are based on class tests, projects, oral examinations, and practical work.

These marks are added to the written theory score to give the final 100-mark total for each subject.

MSBSHSE Class 10 Exam 2027 Expected Dates

The MSBSHSE SSC exam 2027 is expected in February–March 2027. This follows the 2026 cycle where papers ran from February 20 to March 18.

The official 2027 timetable is expected from MSBSHSE by October–November 2026 at mahahsscboard.in.

Preparation Strategy for MSBSHSE Class 10

Secure MCQs First

Every paper opens with 1-mark MCQs drawn from Balbharati textbook content. These are direct-recall questions.

Revise definitions, key terms, formulas, dates, and map names from textbooks to lock in these marks without losing time.

Write Every Mathematics Step

Both Algebra and Geometry use step-wise marking. Each correctly written step earns marks independently of whether the final answer is right.

Skipping steps loses partial marks even when the method is correct.

Target Internal Marks

Internal assessment is awarded throughout the year by the school through tests, practicals, projects, and orals. These 20 marks per subject are controlled.

Focused effort on class assessments gives a guaranteed head start before the board exam begins.

Practise Diagrams and Maps Weekly

Diagram questions in Biology and Physics, and map-pointing questions in Geography carry 2–4 marks. These reward consistent visual practice.

These are structured, predictable, and rewarding if drilled regularly.

Master Writing Formats

Essay structure, formal letter format, and report writing carry 4–5 marks each in every language paper. These formats are fixed.

Learn the structure once and apply it to any topic.

Use Best of 5 Strategically

The Best of 5 rule protects if one subject underperforms. Identify the strongest subject combination and ensure scores are well above 35% in all 6.

The 6th score acts as insurance, not an excuse to under-prepare.

Solve Timed Papers

Solve full 2026 and 2025 SSC papers under 3-hour timed conditions. Each paper covers multiple question types with varied time demands.

MCQs and VSAs take 1–2 minutes each; long answers take 8–10 minutes. Timed practice reveals where time goes and which sections need speed work.

MSBSHSE Class 10 Subjects

MSBSHSE Class 10 students appear for 6 compulsory subjects. These are First Language, Second Language, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Social Sciences, and an optional third language.

The Best of 5 policy applies when calculating the final percentage.

MSBSHSE Class X 2027: Preparation Tips

The Maharashtra Board SSC exam tests students entirely on the Balbharati textbook content. Preparation should begin at the start of the 2026–27 academic year — leaving syllabus coverage to the last few months significantly reduces scoring potential.

Mathematics

  • Complete every exercise in both the Algebra and Geometry textbooks — do not skip even a single solved example.
  • Practice geometric constructions daily; the board expects precise and labelled diagrams that earn full step marks.
  • Financial Planning (Algebra) and Mensuration (Geometry) have high practical application value — master the formulas early and practice a variety of word problems.
  • Solve at least 5 previous years’ question papers under timed conditions before the board exam.
  • Write full working steps — the board awards step marks even if the final answer has a calculation error.

Science and Technology

  • Draw and label all diagrams from the textbook — the board deducts marks for missing labels or unclear diagrams.
  • Gravitation, Lenses, Chemical Reactions, Heredity, and Life Processes are consistently high-weightage chapters across Part 1 and Part 2.
  • Learn all chemical equations in Chapter 3 (Chemical Reactions) — both word equations and balanced symbolic equations.
  • For Biology chapters, create a separate diagram notebook; human heart, nephron, digestive system, and mitosis/meiosis diagrams appear almost every year.
  • The Space Missions chapter is short but important — know India’s ISRO missions by name and year.

MSBSHSE Class X Syllabus 2027: Subject-wise Preparation Guide

History

History questions focus on conceptual understanding and analysis, not just dates. The board expects opinion-based answers that show a deeper grasp of each thematic chapter.

Geography

Map practice is essential for Geography. Students must learn the political map of India with precision, including states, capitals, mountain ranges, rivers, and mineral-producing regions.

Political Science

Prepare short notes for each Political Science chapter. Questions on the Constitution, Electoral Process, and Challenges to Democracy appear in all three formats: MCQ, short answer, and long answer.

Learn definitions and key terms for every chapter. The board frequently asks "define" questions carrying 1–2 marks.

Languages (English, Hindi, Marathi)

Practice English grammar exercises daily. Tense transformations, active-passive voice, and reported speech are tested every year.

English writing skills carry significant marks. Learn the correct format for letters, reports, and emails, and practice at least three examples per format.

Read prose and poetry chapters from Kumarbharati at least twice. Comprehension questions require close reading of the text.

For Marathi and Hindi, memorise grammar rules and write at least one essay and one letter per week in the months before the exam.

Oral assessment carries 20 marks and depends on classroom participation and Diwali test scores. These must be taken seriously throughout the year.

Oral examinations for languages are also included in this 20-mark component. Students must take school-conducted practicals and oral tests seriously, as they contribute directly to the final score.

Preparation Timeline

Students should start at the beginning of the academic year (June 2026) and aim to complete the full syllabus by December 2026. This gives January and February 2027 for revision and board paper practice.

Students who begin in January and try to cover the full syllabus in 2-3 months often struggle with weaker chapters. A 6-7 month study plan with daily targets per subject is the most effective approach.

Recommended Books

Balbharati textbooks for every subject are the primary and most important resource. Once the textbook exercises are finished, Navneet Digest or Target Publications guides can be used for additional practice in board-format question answering.

For Mathematics, solving previous 10 years' board question papers is essential to understand the question pattern and scoring style.

Syllabus Reduction Status

No topics are deleted from the MSBSHSE Class X 2027 syllabus. The COVID-era 25% syllabus reduction (2020-21 and 2021-22) has been fully restored.

The 2027 board exam uses the complete Balbharati syllabus with no deletions. Students must prepare all chapters in Mathematics, Science, Social Sciences, and Languages without expecting any reduction.

Exam Schedule and Passing Criteria

The MSBSHSE Class X theory examinations for 2027 are expected in February-March 2027, based on the previous year's schedule. The board will release the official timetable on mahahsscboard.in.

Practical examinations are expected in December 2026 - January 2027. Results are typically declared in June.

Students must score a minimum of 35% marks in each subject to pass the MSBSHSE Class X 2027 examination. This means at least 35 marks out of 100 in every subject.

Students who do not meet the 35% threshold in any subject are declared fail and must appear in the supplementary (compartment) examination.

Frequently Asked Questions

Ques. When will the MSBSHSE Class X Result 2027 be declared?

Ans. The MSBSHSE Class X Result 2027 is expected in May 2027. In 2026, the result was declared on May 8; in 2025, on May 13. The board will announce the exact date roughly 2–3 weeks before it is released via mahahsscboard.maharashtra.gov.in.

Ques. On which websites will the MSBSHSE SSC Result 2027 be available?

Ans. The result will be available on mahresult.nic.in, mahahsscboard.maharashtra.gov.in, and sscresult.mahahsscboard.in. You can also check it via the DigiLocker app or the UMANG app — these tend to have lighter traffic on result day and are a good backup if the main portals are slow.

MSBSHSE Class X Result Previous Year Statistics

Between 2022 and 2026, the Maharashtra SSC pass percentage ranged from 92.09% to 96.94%. The 2026 result saw the lowest overall pass percentage of this period at 92.09%, while 2022 posted the highest at 96.94%. Across every single year, girls outperformed boys by a consistent margin of 4–6 percentage points.

Year Total Appeared Overall Pass % Boys Pass % Girls Pass % Result Declaration Date
2026 ~17 lakh 92.09% 89.56% 94.96% May 8, 2026
2025 16,11,610 94.10% 92.31% 96.14% May 13, 2025
2024 15,49,326 95.81% 94.56% 97.21% May 27, 2024
2023 ~16 lakh 93.83% 92.05% 95.87% June 2, 2023
2022 ~17 lakh 96.94% 96.06% 97.96% June 17, 2022

The gender gap has stayed broadly steady — girls clear the exam at 4–6 points above boys every year. The 2026 result was notable for showing the widest gap in recent years, with both genders seeing a decline from 2025 levels, suggesting the 2026 paper was harder overall.

Konkan Division vs State Average — Pass Percentage Trend

Konkan division has topped every divisional board in Maharashtra for at least the last four years. Nagpur consistently records the lowest figure. The gap between the two has ranged from about 6 percentage points (2023) to roughly 4 points (2024–2025).

MSBSHSE Class X Result 2027: Division-Wise Pass Percentage

The Konkan division recorded the highest pass percentage in the Maharashtra SSC exams, while Nagpur recorded the lowest. The table below shows the division-wise and state overall pass percentages for recent years.

Year Konkan (Highest Division) Nagpur (Lowest Division) State Overall
2026 97.62% To be updated 92.09%
2025 98.82% ~91% 94.10%
2024 99.01% 94.73% 95.81%
2023 98.11% 92.05% 93.83%

Konkan's high pass rate is linked to strong school infrastructure, better student retention, and lower exam dropout rates compared to interior Maharashtra divisions. The divisional board printed on the SSC certificate does not affect its acceptance anywhere in India.

How to Check MSBSHSE Class X Result 2027

What login details are needed to check the MSBSHSE Class X Result 2027?

You need your Seat Number (printed on your hall ticket) and your Mother's First Name exactly as registered with the board. A small spelling error in the mother's name can give an error — use the exact spelling from your hall ticket or admit card.

What should I do if the result portal is not opening on result day?

On result day, all three official portals face heavy traffic. If mahresult.nic.in is down or slow, try sscresult.mahahsscboard.in or mahahsscboard.maharashtra.gov.in. The DigiLocker app and UMANG app usually load faster because they have lighter traffic from students — try those as a backup.

How to Check MSBSHSE SSC Result 2027 Without Roll Number

If you have misplaced your hall ticket and do not have your seat number handy, you still have a few reliable ways to access your result before and on result day.

  • Ask your school: Your school's office has a complete list of seat numbers assigned to students. Ask your class teacher or the school administrator — this is the fastest and most reliable option. Get it before the result day so you are not scrambling at the last moment.
  • Check previous documents: Your seat number appears on your admit card. If you appeared for any pre-board or preliminary exam, the seat number is often printed on those documents too.
  • DigiLocker Aadhaar-based login: If your Aadhaar is linked to your MSBSHSE account, you can retrieve the marksheet through DigiLocker using Aadhaar-based authentication — no seat number needed once you are logged in.
  • School result sheet: MSBSHSE provides school-wise result data to divisional boards. Your school principal can pull up your name from the school's result sheet and tell you your result status and marks.

The safest move is to note down your seat number from your hall ticket and save it somewhere (phone notes, email to yourself) well before the result date.

MSBSHSE Class X Marksheet 2027: Details and Validity

On result day, the online scorecard you download is a provisional marksheet. Your school distributes the original board-issued marksheet 2–4 weeks later, after the divisional office dispatches it. Both documents — the online copy and the physical original — are useful at different stages.

MSBSHSE Class X Marksheet Details

The MSBSHSE Class X marksheet contains specific details about the student and their performance. Each field is recorded as per school and board records.

Detail on Marksheet Description
Student’s Full Name As registered with MSBSHSE at the time of enrollment
Father’s Name / Mother’s Name As per school and board records
Date of Birth As per school records
Seat Number Unique roll number assigned by MSBSHSE for the exam
Exam Centre / School Name Name of exam centre and the affiliated school
Subject-wise Marks Theory marks, practical / internal marks, and total per subject
Grade per Subject Letter grade (A1 to E2) and grade points assigned based on marks
Total Marks Obtained Aggregate marks across all subjects
Overall Percentage Total marks as a percentage — used for Class 11 (FYJC) admissions
Division Distinction / First Division / Second Division / Pass / Fail
Result Status Pass / Fail / Compartment (AT — Allowed to Keep Terms)

Keep the original marksheet safe once your school hands it over. You will need it for Class 11 admissions, scholarship applications, and for any future college or employment verification.

Since 2021, the digitally signed DigiLocker copy of the MSBSHSE marksheet carries full legal validity. It is accepted at most institutions for admission without requiring the physical copy — though it is good practice to carry both.

What does "AT" or "Compartment" status mean on the MSBSHSE Class X marksheet?

"AT" stands for "Allowed to Keep Terms" — it means you failed in one or two subjects but passed in the rest. You are allowed to appear for the compartment / supplementary exam in those subjects without repeating the whole year. Once you clear the compartment exam, your result updates to Pass and you receive a regular SSC certificate.

MSBSHSE Class X Result 2027: Passing Criteria

Passing the MSBSHSE Class X exam requires clearing every subject individually. A strong aggregate does not save you if you fall short in even one paper — you must score the minimum in each subject separately.

Paper Type Maximum Marks Minimum Marks to Pass
Theory Paper 80 28 marks (35%)
Practical / Internal Assessment 20 7 marks (35%)
Full Subject (Theory + Practical) 100 35 marks (35%)

Divisions based on your overall aggregate percentage:

Division Aggregate Percentage Required
Distinction 75% and above
First Division 60% to 74.99%
Second Division 45% to 59.99%
Pass 35% to 44.99%
Fail Below 35% in any one or more subjects

If your overall aggregate is above 60% but you score below 28 in a single theory paper, the result still shows Fail in that subject. You then have to appear for the compartment exam in that subject. Your overall percentage and division are calculated only after you clear all subjects.

What happens if I fail in one subject in the MSBSHSE Class X 2027 exam?

If you fail in one or two subjects while passing all others, you are placed in the Compartment (AT) category. You can appear for the MSBSHSE SSC Compartment Exam held in June–July 2027 for just those subjects. If you clear the compartment, your result is updated to Pass and you get a regular SSC certificate.

Is there any provision for internal marks or grace marks to help pass a failed subject?

MSBSHSE has a grace marks policy where the board may award 1–5 grace marks per subject for students who are very close to the passing threshold. These are applied automatically — you do not apply for them. If grace marks push you over 35, the marksheet reflects a pass with a grace marks notation.

MSBSHSE Class X Grading System 2027

MSBSHSE assigns a letter grade and grade points to every subject based on marks scored. These grades appear on your online scorecard and on the original marksheet. Grades from D upward are all passing grades.

MSBSHSE Class X Grading System

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) uses a nine-point grading system for the Class X exam. Each grade corresponds to a specific marks range and grade point.

Grade Marks Range Grade Points Performance Level
A1 91–100 10 Outstanding
A2 81–90 9 Excellent
B1 71–80 8 Very Good
B2 61–70 7 Good
C1 51–60 6 Average
C2 41–50 5 Adequate
D 35–40 4 Pass
E1 21–34 — Fail
E2 0–20 — Fail

Grades D through A1 mean the student has passed that subject. Only E1 and E2 indicate failure. The Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is calculated across subjects, but for Class 11 (FYJC) admissions in Maharashtra, colleges typically use the percentage rather than the CGPA to set cut-offs.

How is the CGPA Calculated?

The CGPA is the average of the grade points earned across all subjects. For example, if a student scores B2 (7), B1 (8), A2 (9), C1 (6), and B2 (7) across five subjects, the CGPA is (7+8+9+6+7)/5 = 7.4. The board prints the CGPA on the marksheet alongside the percentage.

MSBSHSE Class X Result 2027: Division-wise and Gender-wise Pass Percentage

Maharashtra runs the Class X exam through nine divisional boards. Performance varies considerably between divisions — Konkan leads the state every year while Nagpur tends to record the lowest figure. Based on the 2022–2026 pattern, the 2027 result will show a similar geographic spread.

Gender-wise Pass Percentage (2022–2026)

Year Overall Pass % Boys Pass % Girls Pass % Gender Gap (pts)
2026 92.09% 89.56% 94.96% 5.40
2025 94.10% 92.31% 96.14% 3.83
2024 95.81% 94.56% 97.21% 2.65
2023 93.83% 92.05% 95.87% 3.82
2022 96.94% 96.06% 97.96% 1.90

Division-wise Highlights — Konkan vs Nagpur (2023–2026)

Year Highest Division Highest Pass % Lowest Division Lowest Pass % State Average
2026 Konkan 97.62% To be updated — 92.09%
2025 Konkan 98.82% Nagpur ~91% 94.10%
2024 Konkan 99.01% Nagpur 94.73% 95.81%
2023 Konkan 98.11% Nagpur 92.05% 93.83%

The inter-divisional gap has narrowed from about 6 points (2023) to roughly 4–5 points (2024–2025) — Nagpur’s results have been catching up. Regardless of which division a school falls under, the SSC certificate carries equal national recognition — the divisional board printed on it does not affect its acceptance anywhere in India.

Grace Marks in MSBSHSE Class X Exam 2027

MSBSHSE has a grace marks policy that can help students who fall just short of the 35-mark minimum in a subject. The board awards these automatically — students do not need to apply for them.

  • Grace marks are typically 1–5 marks per subject for students who are very close to the passing threshold in theory papers
  • They are not awarded for practicals or internal assessments
  • If grace marks are applied to a result, the marksheet carries a notation indicating this
  • The grace marks scheme is a safety net for borderline cases — it is not a general marks booster for all students
  • MSBSHSE may revise the grace marks policy before the 2027 exam — confirm the applicable scheme from the official board notification once it is released on mahahsscboard.maharashtra.gov.in

Even after grace marks are applied, if a student still falls below 35 in a subject, they will be placed in compartment for that subject. Grace marks only push a student over the line when they are genuinely close — they cannot rescue a very low score.

What After MSBSHSE Class X Result 2027?

Once the MSBSHSE Class X 2027 result is declared, the most immediate step for passing students is applying for Class 11 (FYJC) admission. Maharashtra runs a centralised, merit-based online admission process for junior college seats across Science, Commerce, and Arts streams.

FYJC (Class 11) Admission After Class X Result

First Year Junior College (FYJC) admission in Maharashtra starts in June–July every year. The process is centralised and conducted online through the state's FYJC portal.

Students register on the portal and list their preferred colleges and streams. Seat allocation happens through merit-based rounds calculated on the SSC percentage.

Stream Choice and Cut-offs

Science stream generally requires a higher percentage, often 70% or more for good colleges. Commerce and Arts streams have relatively lower cut-offs.

The stream chosen in Class 11 shapes undergraduate options significantly. Students should select a stream based on their career interests.

Documents Required for Admission

  • Original SSC marksheet
  • School-leaving / transfer certificate
  • Aadhaar card
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • Passport-size photographs

Documents should be collected immediately after the result is declared. Admission windows move quickly.

Scholarships

Students scoring 75% or more, or those belonging to reserved categories, may be eligible for Maharashtra government scholarships. Eligibility and application windows are available on the Maharashtra Scholarship Portal.

ITI and Polytechnic Options

Skill-based career paths are open to SSC pass students through ITI (Industrial Training Institute) and polytechnic diploma programmes. These programmes typically last two to three years and lead directly to technical jobs.

Marks Improvement Scheme

Students who passed but want a higher percentage for a competitive stream can use the MSBSHSE Grade / Marks Improvement Scheme. This allows re-appearing for any subject in the next three board examinations, and only the better score is counted.

FYJC Admission Process FAQs

Ques. What is the FYJC admission process after MSBSHSE Class X Result 2027?

Ans. FYJC (Class 11) admissions in Maharashtra go through a centralised online process managed by the state school education department. After the SSC result, students register on the FYJC portal, fill in stream and college preferences, and wait for merit-based seat allocation in multiple rounds. The process typically runs from June to August. The exact schedule is published after the SSC result is out.

Ques. Can I take Class 11 admission with a low SSC percentage?

Ans. Yes. Students who pass with a percentage in the 35–50% range can get into Class 11 in the Arts or Commerce stream at many colleges. Government-aided colleges often have higher cut-offs, but unaided private colleges accommodate students with lower percentages. Options narrow only for a specific Science stream in a high-demand college.

MSBSHSE Class X Compartment Exam 2027

Students who fail in one or two subjects in the MSBSHSE Class X 2027 exam do not have to repeat the entire year. MSBSHSE holds a Compartment (Supplementary) exam in June–July for re-appearing in just the failed subjects while passes in other subjects remain valid.

Particulars Details
Who Can Apply Students who fail in 1–2 subjects in MSBSHSE Class X 2027 (AT / Compartment status)
Maximum Subjects Up to 2 subjects (confirm from official notification)
Expected Exam Date June–July 2027 (Tentative)
Expected Result Date July–August 2027 (Tentative)
Application Process Submit through your school on the MSBSHSE portal; fee payable online
Exam Pattern Same as the regular board exam for that subject

Clearing the compartment exam updates the final marksheet and SSC certificate with the compartment exam marks for those subjects. The certificate carries the same recognition as a regular pass certificate — universities, employers, and institutions treat both identically.

Students who fail in more than two subjects are required to repeat Class X the following year (February–March 2028) as a repeater student.

Compartment Exam FAQ

Ques. Will my MSBSHSE marksheet mention that I cleared a subject through the compartment exam?

Ans. Yes. The updated marksheet will note that the marks in the relevant subject(s) were obtained through the supplementary / compartment exam. However, the final SSC pass certificate itself has full recognition — colleges and employers do not differentiate between a regular pass and a compartment pass in terms of document validity.

MSBSHSE Class X Revaluation and Rechecking 2027

MSBSHSE gives three options after the result is declared for students who feel their marks do not reflect their actual performance. Each option operates at a different level of intervention.

MSBSHSE Class X Result 2027: Rechecking and Revaluation Services

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) offers three post-result services for Class X students: rechecking, answer sheet photocopy, and re-evaluation. Each service has a different purpose and impact on marks.

Service What It Does Marks Impact Expected Window (2027)
Rechecking (Verification) Board checks for totalling errors, unmarked answers, and transcription mistakes Can only stay the same or increase Opens 1–2 days after result (Tentative)
Answer Sheet Photocopy You receive a scanned copy of your answered paper to see how marks were awarded No change to marks — for reference only Opens alongside rechecking (Tentative)
Re-evaluation A second examiner re-marks your full paper from scratch Can increase, stay same, or decrease After photocopy window (Tentative)

How to Apply for Rechecking or Revaluation in 2027

  • Visit verification.mh-ssc.ac.in once the window opens after the result
  • Log in with your seat number and registered mobile number or email
  • Select the service (Verification / Photocopy / Re-evaluation) and the subject you want checked
  • Pay the prescribed fee online
  • Save the payment confirmation and application number — you will need them to track your application status

A practical approach is to apply for rechecking first, then order the photocopy. If the photocopy shows a genuine error in marking, then go for full re-evaluation. In 2025, over 34,000 students who failed the Maharashtra SSC exam applied for rechecking shortly after the result.

Can Marks Go Down After Revaluation?

In rechecking (verification), marks can only stay the same or go up — the board is only checking for administrative errors. In full re-evaluation, a different examiner marks the paper from scratch, so marks can go up, stay the same, or, in rare cases, go down. Most students who request re-evaluation do so after seeing the photocopy confirms a genuine under-marking, which reduces the risk of a downward revision.

Some colleges may still ask to see the original physical marksheet at the time of final document verification — carry both the DigiLocker copy and the original when going for admission.

Which Divisional Board Tops the MSBSHSE Class X Result Every Year?

Konkan division has consistently topped the state in pass percentage for at least the last four years — 97.62% in 2026, 98.82% in 2025, 99.01% in 2024, and 98.11% in 2023. Nagpur division typically records the lowest figure in the state.

Do Girls Perform Better Than Boys in MSBSHSE Class X?

Yes, consistently. Girls have outperformed boys in every year for at least the last five years. In 2026, girls passed at 94.96% vs boys at 89.56%. In 2025, it was 96.14% (girls) vs 92.31% (boys). The gender gap has ranged from about 2 to 5 percentage points.

What Should a Student Do If the Original MSBSHSE Class X Marksheet Is Lost?

File an FIR at the nearest police station reporting the loss, then apply for a duplicate marksheet at the divisional board office. Submit the FIR copy, a written application, the prescribed fee, and a self-attested identity proof. Processing typically takes 3–6 weeks depending on the divisional board. The DigiLocker copy serves as a valid alternative for most purposes while waiting for the duplicate.

Can a Student Reappear for the Maharashtra Board Class X Exam to Improve Marks?

Yes. The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) Grade / Marks Improvement Scheme allows a passed student to reappear for any subject in any of the next three board examinations.

Only the higher of the two scores is counted on the marksheet. This option helps if a lower mark in one subject is reducing the overall percentage and affecting Class 11 stream eligibility or other opportunities.

Where to Apply for Revaluation After the MSBSHSE Class X Result 2027

Apply at verification.mh-ssc.ac.in. The portal opens shortly after the result, usually within 1–2 days.

A student can apply for rechecking (verification for counting errors), an answer sheet photocopy, or full re-evaluation. Apply for rechecking or photocopy first; use re-evaluation only if the photocopy confirms a marking error.

Login Details Needed to Check the MSBSHSE Class X Result 2027

The Seat Number, printed on the hall ticket, and the Mother’s First Name as registered with the board are required to check the result.

Enter the mother’s name in the exact spelling on file. Even a one-letter difference can cause an error. If unsure of the registered spelling, check with the school before result day.

*The article might have information for the previous academic years, which will be updated soon subject to the notification issued by the University/College.

MSBSHSE Class X Result 2027 Expected Date

The MSBSHSE Class X Result 2027 is expected in May 2027. In 2026, the result was declared on May 8; in 2025, on May 13.

The board will announce the exact date roughly 2-3 weeks before it is released via mahahsscboard.maharashtra.gov.in.

Official Websites to Check SSC Result 2027

The result will be available on the following official websites:

  • mahresult.nic.in
  • mahahsscboard.maharashtra.gov.in
  • sscresult.mahahsscboard.in

You can also check it via the DigiLocker app or the UMANG app. These tend to have lighter traffic on result day and are a good backup if the main portals are slow.

Login Details Required

You need your Seat Number, printed on your hall ticket, and your Mother's First Name exactly as registered with the board.

A small spelling error in the mother's name can give an error. Use the exact spelling from your hall ticket or admit card.

What to Do If the Result Portal Is Not Opening

On result day, all three official portals face heavy traffic. If mahresult.nic.in is down or slow, try sscresult.mahahsscboard.in or mahahsscboard.maharashtra.gov.in.

The DigiLocker app and UMANG app usually load faster because they have lighter traffic from students. Try those as a backup.

Meaning of "AT" or "Compartment" Status

"AT" stands for "Allowed to Keep Terms". It means you failed in one or two subjects but passed in the rest.

You are allowed to appear for the compartment or supplementary exam in those subjects without repeating the whole year. Once you clear the compartment exam, your result updates to Pass and you receive a regular SSC certificate.

Failing in One Subject in Class X 2027

If you fail in one or two subjects while passing all others, you are placed in the Compartment (AT) category.

You can appear for the MSBSHSE SSC Compartment Exam held in June-July 2027 for just those subjects. If you clear the compartment, your result is updated to Pass and you get a regular SSC certificate.

Grace Marks Policy

MSBSHSE has a grace marks policy where the board may award 1-5 grace marks per subject for students who are very close to the passing threshold.

These are applied automatically. You do not apply for them. If grace marks push you over 35, the marksheet reflects a pass with a grace marks notation.

CGPA Calculation in MSBSHSE Class X

Your CGPA is the average of the grade points you earn across all subjects.

For example, if you score B2 (7), B1 (8), A2 (9), C1 (6), and B2 (7) across five subjects, the CGPA is (7+8+9+6+7)/5 = 7.4. The board prints the CGPA on your marksheet alongside the percentage.

FYJC Admission Process After SSC Result 2027

FYJC (Class 11) admissions in Maharashtra go through a centralised online process managed by the state school education department.

After the SSC result, you register on the FYJC portal, fill in your stream and college preferences, and wait for merit-based seat allocation in multiple rounds. The process typically runs from June to August. The exact schedule is published after the SSC result is out.

Class 11 Admission with a Low SSC Percentage

Yes. Even if you pass with a percentage in the 35-50% range, you can get into Class 11 in the Arts or Commerce stream at many colleges.

Government-aided colleges often have higher cut-offs, but unaided private colleges accommodate students with lower percentages. Your options only narrow if you want a specific Science stream in a high-demand college.

Marksheet Mention of Compartment Exam

Yes. The updated marksheet will note that the marks in the relevant subject(s) were obtained through the supplementary or compartment exam.

However, the final SSC pass certificate itself has full recognition. Colleges and employers do not differentiate between a regular pass and a compartment pass in terms of document validity.

Can Marks Go Down After Revaluation?

In rechecking (verification), your marks can only stay the same or go up. The board is only checking for administrative errors.

In full re-evaluation, a different examiner marks your paper from scratch, so marks can go up, stay the same, or, in rare cases, go down. Most students who request re-evaluation do so after seeing the photocopy confirms a genuine under-marking, which reduces the risk of a downward revision.

Maharashtra Board Class X Exam Overview

  • At least 28 out of 80 in the theory paper.
  • At least 7 out of 20 in the practical.

Validity of DigiLocker Marksheet

The digitally signed DigiLocker copy of the MSBSHSE Class X marksheet carries full legal validity. It is accepted for FYJC admissions in Maharashtra.

Some colleges may still ask to see the original physical marksheet at the time of final document verification. Students should carry both the DigiLocker copy and the original when going for admission.

Konkan division has consistently topped the state in pass percentage for at least the last four years. Nagpur division typically records the lowest figure in the state.

Year Konkan Division Pass Percentage
2026 97.62%

  • In 2025, it was 96.14% (girls) vs 92.31% (boys).

Lost or Duplicate Marksheet

If a student loses the original marksheet, an FIR must be filed at the nearest police station reporting the loss. Then, an application for a duplicate marksheet can be made at the divisional board office.

The following documents and items are required for the application:

  • FIR copy.
  • A written application.
  • The prescribed fee.
  • A self-attested identity proof.

Processing typically takes 3 to 6 weeks depending on the divisional board. The DigiLocker copy serves as a valid alternative for most purposes while waiting for the duplicate.

Marks Improvement Scheme

MSBSHSE's Grade / Marks Improvement Scheme allows passed students to re-appear for any subject in any of the next three board examinations. Only the higher of the two scores is counted on the marksheet.

This is useful if a lower mark in one subject is pulling down the overall percentage and affecting stream eligibility for Class 11 or other opportunities.

Revaluation Process

Applications for revaluation are submitted at verification.mh-ssc.ac.in. The portal opens shortly after the result, usually within 1 to 2 days.

Students can apply for the following:

  • Rechecking (verification for counting errors).
