TBSE Result Previous Year Statistics

Looking at the previous years gives you a clearer picture of how TBSE 2026 compares. The Higher Secondary pass percentage has stayed remarkably stable — 79.27%, 79.29%, and 79.33% across 2024, 2025, and 2026 — reflecting consistent assessment standards after the drop from the COVID-era 96.08% recorded in 2022. On the Madhyamik side, the 2026 pass rate of 84.18% is a slight dip from 2025’s 86.53%, but remains well above the long-term average.

YearMadhyamik (Class 10) Pass %Higher Secondary (Class 12) Pass %Result Declaration Date
202684.18%79.33%May 8, 2026
202586.53%79.29%May 2025
2024—79.27%May 2024
2023—~83%May 2023
2022—96.08%June 2022

*Class 10 pass percentage data for 2022–2024 is being updated from official TBSE records. The 2022 Class 12 figure reflects COVID-era alternative assessment — it is not directly comparable to later years.

The three-year Higher Secondary pass percentage trend shows how TBSE has normalised post-COVID:

YearHS (Class 12) Pass %Year-on-Year Change
202679.33%+0.04 percentage points
202579.29%+0.02 percentage points
202479.27%Base year for comparison

The near-flat trajectory across three years tells you the board is maintaining stable pass criteria and marking standards. In-year fluctuations of a percentage point or two are normal — not a sign of the exam getting harder or easier.

TBSE Result 2026: Pass Percentage and Statistics

The TBSE 2026 results show a strong performance overall, with girls continuing to lead over boys across both classes. Here is a detailed breakdown of the key figures.

Overall Pass Statistics

Class Students Appeared Students Passed Overall Pass %
Class 10 (Madhyamik) 32,184 27,094 84.18%
Class 12 (Higher Secondary) 26,502 21,024 79.33%

Class Boys Passed Girls Passed Trend
Class 10 (Madhyamik) 12,320 14,774 Girls outperformed boys
Class 12 (Higher Secondary) 9,411 11,613 Girls outperformed boys

In Madhyamik, girls made up 54.5% of all students who passed. In Higher Secondary, that figure is 55.2%.

This continues a multi-year trend seen across most state boards — girls consistently outperforming boys in board exams.

Subdivision-wise Pass Percentage — Madhyamik 2026 (Class 10)

Subdivision Pass Percentage
Karbook 97.91% (Highest)
Jampuijala 97.48%
Gandacherra 68.81% (Lowest)

Complete district-wise breakdown for all subdivisions and subject-wise pass percentages for 2026 have not yet been separately published by TBSE. This section will be updated once the board releases detailed stream and subject-wise data.

TBSE Grading System and Passing Criteria 2026

TBSE uses a division-based grading system for both Madhyamik and Higher Secondary. You pass the exam if you score at least 33% in each individual subject and at least 33% in the aggregate.

Falling below 33% in any one subject marks you as failed in that subject, regardless of your aggregate performance.

TBSE Grading System 2026

TBSE awards grades based on the percentage of marks a student scores. The table below shows the division and grade for each percentage range.

Division / Grade Percentage Range
Distinction 75% and above
First Division 60% – 74%
Second Division 45% – 59%
Third Division (Pass) 33% – 44%
Failed Below 33% in one or more subjects, or below 33% in aggregate

Scoring 75% or above earns a Distinction, which is the highest grade on a TBSE marksheet. This grade is useful for merit-based college admissions and for state and central government scholarships.

Grace Marks Policy: TBSE may add a small number of grace marks in some cases. This applies when a student is just below the pass mark in a subject. The specific cap and conditions vary year to year. Your school administration will have details of the 2026 grace marks rules once TBSE notifies them.

TBSE Compartment Exam 2026

Students who failed in one or two subjects in Madhyamik, or in one subject in Higher Secondary, can appear for the TBSE Compartment Exam. This exam lets you clear those specific subjects without waiting for next year's full board exam. Passing the compartment exam puts you in the same pass category as regular exam students from the 2026 batch.

Eligibility for TBSE Compartment Exam 2026:

Class Subjects Failed Compartment Eligibility
Class 10 (Madhyamik) 1 or 2 subjects Eligible — appear only for the failed subject(s)
Class 10 (Madhyamik) 3 or more subjects Not eligible — must re-appear for the full exam in 2027
Class 12 (Higher Secondary) 1 subject Eligible — appear only for that subject
Class 12 (Higher Secondary) 2 or more subjects Not eligible — must re-appear for the full exam in 2027

How to apply for TBSE Compartment Exam 2026:

  1. Visit tbse.tripura.gov.in once the compartment exam notification is published.
  2. Download and fill the compartment exam application form with your roll number, registration number, and the subject(s) in which you are applying.

  4. Submit the form through your school or as directed in the official notification.
  5. Download your compartment admit card from the official website before the exam.
  6. Appear for the exam on the notified date and venue.

Key facts about the TBSE Compartment Exam:

  • You sit only for the subject(s) you failed, not the full exam.
  • Compartment exam scores replace your earlier failing scores on your final marksheet.
  • If your updated aggregate after the compartment exam crosses a higher division threshold, your final division improves accordingly.
  • The exam is typically held in July–August. TBSE will announce exact dates and venues on the official website, expected by June or July 2026.
  • Keep your original admit card and 2026 result printout ready. You will need them during the application process.

Ques. Can I appear for the TBSE Compartment Exam 2026 if I failed in two subjects in Class 12?

Ans. No. For Class 12 (Higher Secondary), compartment exam eligibility is only for students who failed in exactly 1 subject. If you failed in 2 or more subjects, you have to re-appear for the full Higher Secondary exam in 2027.

Ques. When will TBSE announce the Compartment Exam 2026 schedule?

Ans. As of early June 2026, TBSE has not yet published the compartment exam schedule. Dates are expected in June or July 2026. Check tbse.tripura.gov.in regularly for the official notification.

Ques. Will my marksheet show that I appeared for the TBSE Compartment Exam?

Ans. Yes. The compartment exam attempt is recorded on your revised marksheet. Your updated subject score and pass status are reflected, but the marksheet indicates that you appeared for the compartment exam in that particular subject.

TBSE Result 2026: Revaluation and Scrutiny

If you feel your marks don't accurately reflect your performance, TBSE provides two options — Scrutiny (Re-checking) and Re-evaluation. Scrutiny checks for totalling errors, missing marks for any answer, and proper transfer of marks from the answer script to the mark sheet. Re-evaluation involves a fresh reading and assessment of your actual answers.

Steps to apply for TBSE Revaluation or Scrutiny 2026:

TBSE Revaluation and Scrutiny Process 2026

TBSE opens a revaluation and scrutiny window within 2–3 weeks of the result declaration. You must wait for the official notification before applying.

  1. Visit tbse.tripura.gov.in and download the application form once the notification is out.
  2. Fill in your roll number, registration number, the subject(s) for re-checking, and the specific reason.
  3. Pay the per-subject fee as notified by TBSE for 2026. The fee may differ for scrutiny versus re-evaluation.
  4. Submit the form through your school by the deadline stated in the notification.

Revaluation results are typically declared within 4–6 weeks of the application window closing. If revaluation results show higher marks that change your pass/fail status or push you into a higher division, TBSE issues a revised marksheet. If marks stay the same or go lower, the original marksheet stands.

Application deadlines are strict. Missing the window means you cannot apply later, so act promptly once the official notification is out.

What After TBSE Result 2026?

Your next steps depend on which class you were in and how your result turned out. Here is a clear guide for each scenario.

If You Passed Class 10 (Madhyamik)

  • Enrol in Class 11 at a school in Tripura or elsewhere. You can choose Science, Commerce, or Arts based on your marks and interest. Most schools have stream eligibility criteria tied to your Class 10 scores.
  • Gather your marksheet, transfer certificate (TC), and other certificates early. Many schools in Tripura start Class 11 admissions in June.
  • Explore central and state government merit scholarships available for Madhyamik pass students. The National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) and state board toppers' scholarships are worth applying for.
  • If you prefer a vocational path, look into diploma and ITI programmes. Eligibility starts after Class 10.

If You Passed Class 12 (Higher Secondary)

  • Apply for undergraduate courses at colleges across Tripura and other states. Your TBSE Higher Secondary marksheet is accepted at all central and state universities.
  • If you appeared for national entrance exams (JEE, NEET, CUET, or others), those results will guide your specific college and course options.
  • Start gathering documents now — HS marksheet, Class 10 marksheet, migration certificate (if applying outside Tripura), caste certificate (if applicable), and identity proof. Many colleges have tight document submission deadlines.
  • Check the Tripura government's post-HS scholarship schemes and the National Scholarship Portal for grants available to meritorious students.

If You Failed or Did Not Qualify for Compartment

  • First check whether you are eligible for the TBSE Compartment Exam 2026. Refer to the Compartment Exam section above.
  • If not eligible for compartment, you can re-appear for the full Madhyamik or Higher Secondary exam in 2027 as a private candidate. TBSE permits private candidates to sit for the board exams.
  • Use this period productively. Skill development programmes from the Tripura government's vocational training department are open to students during this gap.
