Vignan Scholastic Aptitude Test

Engineering UG Offline
event May 2026

The Vignan Scholastic Aptitude Test, known as VSAT, is the institution-level entrance test conducted by Vignan's Foundation for Science, Technology and Research, the deemed university at Vadlamudi near Guntur in Andhra Pradesh, for admission to its own programmes. In its undergraduate engineering form it is taken by class 12 students seeking a Bachelor of Technology seat at the university, and the institution uses the same test for other programmes it offers. Overview expand_more
The undergraduate engineering paper is objective and computer-based, drawn from the class 11 and class 12 syllabus in mathematics, physics and chemistry, with an English or aptitude component as the university notifies, so it tests school-level command rather than specialised knowledge. The test is usually offered in more than one phase and in a remotely proctored or centre-based mode, letting candidates choose a convenient slot. Ranks are used for admission to the Bachelor of Technology branches the university offers, such as computer science and engineering and its specialisations, electronics, electrical, mechanical, civil and biotechnology, and performance in the test is also used by the university to award its merit scholarships. The number of questions, the sectional split, the duration, the marking scheme and the scholarship slabs are set out in the admission notification for the year.
Eligibility expand_more
Candidates must have passed, or be appearing in, the intermediate, class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognised board with mathematics, physics and chemistry for the engineering programmes, or the relevant subject combination for the other courses. Those awaiting results may apply on condition that the result is produced before admission is confirmed. The minimum aggregate marks required in the qualifying examination, any age condition, and the relaxation available to reserved categories are stated in the university's admission notification rather than fixed here, and candidates from boards outside India are considered under the equivalence rules given in the same document.
