Manipur NEET Counselling is a seat-allotment process, not an entrance examination. It is the admission procedure conducted by the state authority in Manipur, working through the Directorate of Health Services and the state medical education authorities, to fill the state-quota MBBS and BDS seats in medical and dental colleges in Manipur. Candidates do not sit any separate test for it: the only examination involved is NEET UG, the national undergraduate medical entrance test conducted by the National Testing Agency, and the counselling simply ranks and allots candidates on the basis of their NE
Overview expand_more
The process begins after NEET UG results are declared and the national authority releases the data needed for state counselling. The state authority issues a prospectus, opens online registration, verifies documents including proof of residence and category, and publishes a state merit list drawn from NEET UG scores. Candidates then fill choices and are allotted seats over a series of rounds, with mop-up and stray-vacancy rounds held at the end to fill seats left empty. The allotment covers state-quota seats in government medical and dental colleges in Manipur, and any private or deemed institution notified as participating. Rules on free exit, seat leaving bond, security deposit and reporting deadlines apply as published. Because the number of participating colleges, the reservation matrix and the round schedule change every year, candidates should follow only the current prospectus and notices issued by the state counselling authority.

Candidates must have qualified NEET UG for the year concerned by scoring at or above the cut-off percentile declared for their category, and must have passed class 12 or an equivalent examination with physics, chemistry, biology or biotechnology and English. In addition, participation in the state quota requires the candidate to satisfy the domicile, residence or category conditions that Manipur applies to its state seats, supported by the documents listed in the prospectus. Minimum marks in the qualifying examination, the applicable age requirement and the exact residence rules are laid down in the NEET UG information bulletin and the state counselling prospectus, which are the authoritative sources.
