AIIMS BSc Nursing Cutoff 2026: Category-wise Qualifying Ranks

The AIIMS BSc Nursing 2026 qualifying cutoff was released on July 4, 2026. The cutoff has two parts: a minimum marks percentage and an overall rank limit for counselling registration.

Below are the category-wise qualifying ranks for 2026, along with the previous years' data for comparison.

Year UR OBC (NCL) EWS SC ST
2026 21,648 26,041 21,638 27,532 27,531

Source: AIIMS Exams Official Portal – aiimsexams.ac.in

The UR qualifying rank grew by 20,268 ranks across five years. This growth reflects the addition of new AIIMS campuses and a significant expansion of total seat capacity. AIIMS now allows a larger pool of candidates to register for counselling.

Does a High Qualifying Rank Guarantee a Seat at AIIMS Delhi?

No. The qualifying rank only makes you eligible for counselling. Getting a seat at AIIMS Delhi requires a much lower (better) rank.

Based on past counselling data, UR candidates need a rank under 300 for AIIMS Delhi BSc Nursing.

Is the AIIMS BSc Nursing Cutoff the Same Across All 19 Campuses?

No. The qualifying cutoff (for counselling entry) is common across all campuses. But the actual admission cutoff differs by campus.

AIIMS Delhi closes at a much lower rank than newer campuses like AIIMS Kalyani or AIIMS Deoghar.

Factors Affecting AIIMS BSc Nursing Cutoff

Several factors decide where the AIIMS BSc Nursing cutoff lands each year. Understanding these helps you predict how competitive the counselling will be.

  • Total number of candidates: More candidates raise competition. A larger pool typically pushes the admission cutoff to a lower (better) rank.
  • Number of available seats: AIIMS has expanded to 19 campuses. More seats mean a higher qualifying rank cutoff, allowing more candidates to enter counselling.
  • Exam difficulty level: A tougher paper leads to lower scores overall. This can loosen the marks cutoff slightly but tightens the rank-based admission cutoff.
  • Previous year performance trends: If more candidates scored high in the previous year, the cutoff typically shifts upward. AIIMS uses merit-based ranking, so relative performance matters.
  • Category-wise seat matrix: The number of reserved seats for SC, ST, OBC, and EWS varies by campus. Changes in the seat matrix directly affect category-wise closing ranks.
  • Candidate preference patterns: If most candidates prefer AIIMS Delhi or Jodhpur in Round 1, seats at newer campuses open in later rounds.

AIIMS BSc Nursing 2026: Category-wise Qualifying Cutoff

The AIIMS BSc Nursing 2026 qualifying cutoff has two components. The first is the minimum marks percentage you must score. The second is the overall rank within which you must fall to register for counselling.

Minimum Qualifying Marks (Category-wise):

Category Minimum Qualifying Percentage Minimum Marks (out of 100)
UR (Unreserved) 50% 50
EWS (Economically Weaker Section) 50% 50
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) 45% 45
SC (Scheduled Caste) 40% 40
ST (Scheduled Tribe) 40% 40
PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disability) 40% 40

Overall Qualifying Rank Cutoff (2026) – Released July 4, 2026:

AIIMS BSc Nursing Qualifying Rank Cutoff 2026

The qualifying rank cutoff for AIIMS BSc Nursing 2026 is the maximum rank a candidate can hold to be eligible for counselling. The cutoff varies by category.

The table below lists the overall qualifying rank cutoff for each category for 2026.

Category Overall Qualifying Rank Cutoff
UR 21,648
UR-PwBD 20,626
EWS 21,638
EWS-PwBD 18,487
OBC (NCL) 26,041
OBC (NCL)-PwBD 25,915
SC 27,532
SC-PwBD 19,384
ST 27,531
ST-PwBD 20,505

Meeting the qualifying cutoff only makes you eligible for counselling. Your actual admission depends on the institute-wise closing rank revealed during each counselling round.

Qualifying Marks vs Admission Cutoff

Qualifying cutoff and admission cutoff are two different benchmarks. You need to clear both to secure a seat at your preferred AIIMS campus.

  • Qualifying cutoff (marks-based): This is the minimum marks percentage you must score to appear in the merit list. For UR and EWS, this is 50% (50 marks out of 100). Scoring below this means you are not ranked and cannot attend counselling.
  • Qualifying cutoff (rank-based): Even if you score above minimum marks, you must fall within the qualifying rank cutoff for your category. For 2026, the UR rank cutoff is 21,648. Only candidates with rank 21,648 or better can register for counselling.
  • Admission cutoff (institute-wise): This is the last rank allotted at a specific AIIMS campus during counselling. AIIMS Delhi admits only the top-ranked candidates. Less competitive campuses admit candidates with higher ranks. This cutoff is revealed round by round.

In short: qualifying cutoff is the entry gate, and admission cutoff is the final filter. Clearing the qualifying cutoff does not guarantee a seat. It only gives you the right to participate in counselling.

Institute-wise Closing Rank

Each of the 19 AIIMS campuses has its own closing rank during counselling. AIIMS Delhi is the most competitive, followed by older and larger campuses. Newer campuses typically have higher (less competitive) closing ranks.

The 2026 institute-wise closing ranks will be available after each counselling round. The table below uses AIIMS Kalyani 2025 data as a sample. It shows how institute-level cutoffs compare to the overall qualifying cutoff.

AIIMS Campus UR Closing Rank OBC (NCL) Closing Rank EWS Closing Rank SC Closing Rank ST Closing Rank
AIIMS Kalyani (2025) 1,815 3,873 3,915 10,034 16,600
All AIIMS – Round 1 (2024) 1,143 1,733 – 5,406 11,025
All AIIMS – Round 2 (2024) 1,516 2,075 3,870 6,413 13,235
All AIIMS – Open Round (2024) 2,395 2,577 4,024 8,342 13,816

Note: 2026 institute-wise closing ranks will be updated after Round 1 allotment on July 12, 2026. The figures above are from 2024–25 for reference.

AIIMS Delhi is far more competitive than the overall qualifying rank suggests. Based on past counselling patterns, UR candidates need a rank under 300 to typically get AIIMS Delhi. Candidates with ranks between 300 and 1,500 stand a good chance at mid-tier AIIMS campuses. Ranks beyond 1,500 can still secure seats at newer campuses in later rounds.

Round-wise Counselling Analysis

The AIIMS BSc Nursing counselling runs in three rounds: Round 1, Round 2, and an Open Round (also called the Mop-Up Round). Each round releases a fresh seat allotment. The closing rank typically rises with each successive round as more candidates secure seats.

The table below shows how 2024 closing ranks shifted across rounds.

Counselling Round UR Closing Rank OBC (NCL) Closing Rank EWS Closing Rank SC Closing Rank ST Closing Rank
Round 1 (2024) 1,143 1,733 – 5,406 11,025
Round 2 (2024) 1,516 2,075 3,870 6,413 13,235
Open Round (2024) 2,395 2,577 4,024 8,342 13,816

Note: 2026 round-wise data will be updated after each counselling round in July–September 2026.

In 2024, the UR closing rank moved from 1,143 in Round 1 to 2,395 in the Open Round. This is a shift of 1,252 ranks across rounds. It means 1,252 additional UR candidates secured a seat through Round 2 and the Open Round. If you do not get a seat in Round 1, wait for later rounds before withdrawing from counselling.

AIIMS BSc Nursing Qualifying Cutoff Trend (2022–2026)

The AIIMS BSc Nursing qualifying cutoff has increased every year. The UR qualifying rank rose from 1,380 in 2022 to 21,648 in 2026. This is a total shift of 20,268 ranks over five years.

This growth reflects the major expansion of AIIMS BSc Nursing seats. New campuses have also been added during this period.

Year UR OBC (NCL) EWS SC ST
2026 21,648 26,041 21,638 27,532 27,531
2025 16,016 – – – –
2024 6,391 9,851 6,387 13,963 13,926
2023 4,361 6,139 4,359 8,425 8,221
2022 1,380 1,987 1,376 2,761 2,725

Year-on-Year Change for UR Category

The UR qualifying rank grew by different amounts each year. The largest jump happened between 2024 and 2025.

  • 2022 to 2023: The UR qualifying rank grew by 2,981 ranks (from 1,380 to 4,361). AIIMS added multiple new campuses with fresh seats in this period.
  • 2023 to 2024: The UR qualifying rank grew by a further 2,030 ranks (from 4,361 to 6,391). Seat capacity continued to expand modestly.
  • 2024 to 2025: The UR qualifying rank jumped by 9,625 ranks (from 6,391 to 16,016). This rise reflects a large increase in seats at newer AIIMS campuses reaching full capacity.
  • 2025 to 2026: The UR qualifying rank grew by 5,632 ranks (from 16,016 to 21,648). Growth has moderated, suggesting seat expansion is stabilising.

SC and ST Category Trends

For SC and ST categories, the 2024 qualifying ranks were 13,963 and 13,926 respectively. By 2026, the SC qualifying rank grew to 27,532 – a shift of 13,569 ranks over two years.

The ST qualifying rank grew to 27,531, a shift of 13,605 ranks. Reserved-category candidates now have significantly more counselling access than in 2022.

The expanding qualifying rank does NOT mean competition is easing. AIIMS Delhi and top campuses remain highly competitive. Admission closing ranks are driven by candidate preference patterns, not the qualifying cutoff.

Why Has the Qualifying Rank Grown So Much?

The main reason is the expansion of AIIMS BSc Nursing seats. In 2022, fewer campuses offered the programme.

By 2026, all 19 AIIMS campuses collectively offer 1,366 seats. More seats allow AIIMS to qualify more candidates for counselling.

Will the Qualifying Cutoff Continue to Grow in 2027?

Based on the trend, moderate growth is likely. If AIIMS adds more seats through new campuses or increased intake, the qualifying rank will continue to rise.

However, a shift of 15,257 ranks in two years is unlikely to repeat once all 19 campuses are fully operational.

AIIMS BSc Nursing Cutoff 2026: Marks vs Rank

Your score in the AIIMS BSc Nursing exam directly determines your overall rank. A higher score earns a lower (better) rank and gives you access to more competitive AIIMS campuses.

The table below shows the approximate relationship between scores and expected rank ranges, based on 2024–2026 data.

Score Range (out of 100) Expected Rank Range (UR) Likely AIIMS Options (UR)

With 100 questions and 100 marks total, accurate attempts matter more than total attempts.

How is the Merit List Prepared?

AIIMS prepares a single centralised merit list for all 19 campuses. Your rank is based on your total score in the entrance exam.

If two candidates score the same, AIIMS applies a tie-breaking rule. Age is the primary criterion — the older candidate gets the higher rank.

Number of Candidates Appearing for AIIMS BSc Nursing

Around 1 lakh students appear for the AIIMS BSc Nursing (Hons.) entrance exam annually. In 2025, about 19,960 candidates qualified out of roughly 1 lakh who appeared.

Participation has grown steadily from around 80,000 in 2022, reflecting rising demand for nursing seats at AIIMS campuses. The total seat count has grown only modestly during this period.

This means competition for top-choice campuses like AIIMS New Delhi and AIIMS Rishikesh has tightened. Candidates with ranks beyond 2,000 in the General category should focus on newer AIIMS campuses where the Open Round cutoff tends to be more accessible.

How to Check AIIMS BSc Nursing Result 2026

AIIMS released the BSc Nursing (Hons.) result as a single overall rank list PDF — not as individual scorecards. Your name and roll number appear in the PDF if you have qualified.

There are two methods to access your result on July 4, 2026.

Method 1: Download the Overall Rank List PDF (No Login Required)

  1. Open aiimsexams.ac.in on your browser.
  2. Look for the "Result Notification" or "B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing Result 2026" link on the homepage.
  3. Click the link to open or download the rank list PDF (usually hosted on docs.aiimsexams.ac.in).
  4. Use Ctrl+F (or your PDF reader's Find function) and search for your roll number.
  5. Note your marks obtained, All India Rank, and category rank — save or print the page for your records.

Method 2: Via Your AIIMS Student Login

  1. Go to aiimsexams.ac.in and click on the Student Login section.
  2. Log in using your registered email ID and password.
  3. Navigate to the B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing section in your dashboard.
  4. Click on the Result or Rank Card tab to view your result.
  5. Download the rank card for use during counselling registration.

If aiimsexams.ac.in is slow due to high traffic on result day, try bsccourses.aiimsexams.ac.in, which is the dedicated AIIMS BSc portal and is usually less congested. Try accessing the site in the early morning hours before traffic peaks.

Login Requirements for Result Access

No. You can download the overall rank list PDF directly from the result notification link on aiimsexams.ac.in without logging in — just search for your roll number in the PDF. Alternatively, you can log in to your registered AIIMS account to view a dedicated rank card for your result.

Website Issues on Result Day

AIIMS websites often experience heavy traffic on result day. Try accessing the site in the early morning, before peak hours.

The rank list PDF is typically also available at docs.aiimsexams.ac.in and bsccourses.aiimsexams.ac.in. Switching browsers or devices can also help if one connection times out.

AIIMS BSc Nursing Qualifying Marks 2026

To appear in the merit list and be eligible for counselling, you must score at or above the minimum qualifying marks for your category. These percentage-based qualifying marks have remained consistent across years.

Clearing the qualifying mark puts you in the rank list — but your actual admission depends on your All India Rank relative to the available seats and cutoff at the AIIMS campus you apply for.

Category Minimum Qualifying Percentage Minimum Marks (out of 100)
General / UR 50% 50
EWS 50% 50
OBC-NCL 45% 45
SC 40% 40
ST 40% 40
PwBD 40% 40

Qualifying the exam does not guarantee admission. In 2024, the Round 1 General category closing rank across all AIIMS was 1,143.

So even if you cleared 50% marks and appear in the merit list, you will only get a seat if your All India Rank falls within the closing rank for your category and preferred campus. Candidates with lower ranks should participate in all three counselling rounds to maximise their chances.

AIIMS BSc Nursing 2026 Cutoff

The AIIMS BSc Nursing 2026 cutoff will be released along with counselling rounds after the result is declared on July 4. The cutoff is the last All India Rank at which a seat was allotted in each category across any AIIMS campus. Since the 2026 result is not yet out, the expected cutoff range is based on 2024 data — the most recent year with confirmed round-wise figures.

AIIMS BSc Nursing Cutoff 2024 — Category-wise, All Rounds

Category Closing Rank – Round 1 Closing Rank – Round 2 Closing Rank – Open Round
UR (General) 1,143 1,516 2,395
OBC-NCL 1,733 2,075 2,577
EWS — 3,870 4,024
SC 5,406 6,413 8,342
ST 11,025 13,235 13,816

The cutoff rises from Round 1 to the Open Round because candidates who secured seats at higher-preference campuses vacate their earlier allotments, freeing seats for lower-ranked candidates. If you do not get a seat in Round 1, stay active through Round 2 and the Open Round. Cutoffs also vary by campus — AIIMS New Delhi and AIIMS Rishikesh typically have the tightest closing ranks, while newer campuses are more accessible.

What is a good rank in AIIMS BSc Nursing to get AIIMS New Delhi?

Based on previous year trends, a General category rank below 200–300 gives you a strong chance at AIIMS New Delhi, which has 96 seats and the tightest cutoff among all campuses. For OBC-NCL, a rank below 400–500 is competitive for Delhi. If your rank falls between 1,000 and 2,500 in the General category, focus on newer AIIMS campuses where the Open Round cutoff is typically more accessible.

AIIMS BSc Nursing Rank Card 2026: Details Mentioned

The AIIMS BSc Nursing (Hons.) result is published as a roll-number-wise rank list PDF. It is a collective document — every qualified candidate’s details appear on a separate row. You can search for your roll number in the PDF using Ctrl+F, then save or print that page as your rank card for counselling registration.

The rank list PDF typically includes the following details for each candidate:

Detail Information
Candidate’s Name Full name as submitted during application
Roll Number Unique exam roll number
Registration Number AIIMS application registration number
Category UR / OBC-NCL / EWS / SC / ST / PwBD
Marks Obtained Raw marks out of 100
All India Rank (AIR) Overall rank among all qualified candidates
Category Rank Rank within your specific reservation category
Qualifying Status Qualified / Not Qualified

If you spot any discrepancy in your name, category, or other details on the rank card, report it immediately to the AIIMS examination cell via aiimsexams.ac.in. AIIMS usually provides a brief grievance redressal window before counselling begins — errors corrected after counselling starts may not be accepted.

AIIMS BSc Nursing Merit List 2026

The AIIMS BSc Nursing 2026 merit list is the same document as the overall rank list PDF — it is not released as a separate file. Every candidate who scores at or above the qualifying marks for their category gets included in the merit list, ranked from highest to lowest marks. The final answer key is published alongside the merit list, so you can verify your marks and understand your rank.

In case two or more candidates score identical marks, AIIMS uses the following tie-breaking criteria to assign ranks:

  • Fewer incorrect answers: The candidate with fewer wrong responses (benefiting less from negative marking) is ranked higher
  • Older age: If the tie persists after comparing incorrect answers, the older candidate gets the higher rank

AIIMS typically releases the merit list in multiple formats — roll-number-wise, rank-wise, and category-wise — making it easier to navigate your standing during counselling choice filling. If you had any objections to the answer key, those should have been submitted during the designated objection window before the result. AIIMS does not accept post-result objections once the final answer key is published.

AIIMS BSc Nursing Seat Matrix 2026

What After AIIMS BSc Nursing Result 2026?

As the result has been declared on July 4, the next steps will move very quickly. Counselling registration closes on July 9, 2026 — just five days later — and the first seat allotment comes on July 12.

Step 1 — Register for Counselling (by July 9, 2026)

Log in at aiimsexams.ac.in and complete your counselling registration. You will need to pay a non-refundable registration fee and upload key documents (category certificate, photo ID, Class 10 and 12 marksheets). Do not wait until July 9 — the portal can slow down near the deadline.

Step 2 — Fill Your AIIMS Campus Preferences (Choice Filling)

After registering, fill in your campus preferences in the order you prefer during the designated choice filling window. List every AIIMS you are open to — filling more choices gives you the best chance at a seat. Choices cannot be changed once locked, so think carefully before submitting.

Step 3 — Round 1 Seat Allotment (July 12, 2026)

AIIMS allots seats based on your All India Rank, your category, and the campus preferences you submitted. Log in on July 12 to check your allotment. If you are allotted a seat, accept it and proceed to document submission.

Step 4 — Document Submission at Allotted AIIMS (July 13–18, 2026)

Visit your allotted AIIMS campus in person between July 13 and July 18, 2026 to submit original documents and pay the admission fee. Failing to report within this window means your seat is cancelled and moved to the next eligible candidate — there is no extension.

Step 5 — Round 2 and Open Round

If you did not get a seat in Round 1, or if a higher-preference AIIMS opens up when others vacate their seats, you can participate in Round 2 and the subsequent Open Round. More seats become available in each successive round.

Counselling Step Date
Counselling Registration Closes July 9, 2026
Round 1 Seat Allotment July 12, 2026
Document Submission at AIIMS (Round 1) July 13–18, 2026
Round 2 Seat Allotment To be announced
Open Round To be announced

Keep photocopies and originals of all documents ready before July 13. You will typically need: Class 10 and 12 marksheets and certificates, category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD if applicable), AIIMS BSc Nursing 2026 admit card, passport-size photographs, and a valid government-issued photo ID. If any document is missing or invalid, AIIMS may cancel your allotment on the spot.
