Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education

Class-12-exams UG Offline
event March 2026

The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education, based at Ajmer and commonly called RBSE, is the state's school examination board. It is not an entrance examination. The board prescribes syllabi, affiliates schools across Rajasthan and conducts the annual Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations, along with supplementary, private-candidate and vocational examinations. A Class 12 result issued by it is a school-leaving qualification, not a competitive score for a college seat. Students who pass still have to appear for whichever entrance examination their intended course requires, or apply through t

Overview expand_more
As an examination board rather than an admission test, RBSE registers school and private candidates, sets question papers across the science, commerce, arts and vocational streams, conducts written and practical examinations at centres throughout the state's districts, evaluates answer books and publishes results, mark sheets and migration certificates. It also administers supplementary examinations, rechecking and scrutiny requests, and coordinates with the state open school for candidates studying outside regular schools. Its Class 12 result is accepted as the qualifying examination by colleges and universities and by national and state entrance tests in engineering, medicine, law, design and central university admission. Students planning higher education have to track the board date sheet and the separate entrance test notifications at the same time, since the two are issued by different bodies and their schedules can overlap during the same months of the year.
Eligibility expand_more
Because this is a school board examination, its conditions concern school enrolment rather than entrance-test eligibility. A regular candidate must be enrolled in and sponsored by a school affiliated to the board, must have completed the preceding class as required, and must satisfy the attendance and internal assessment requirements laid down by the school and the board. Private candidates apply directly to the board under its separate rules on prior qualification and residence. The pass marks in each subject and in the aggregate, the registration and age conditions, the number of chances allowed and the examination fee are stated in the board's regulations and in its notification for the session, which candidates should consult directly.
