IPU CET 2024 Exam Instructions
Candidates appearing for the exam must follow the instructions given below:
- Candidates should bring two black ballpoint pens to the Examination hall for marking responses on OMR answer sheets. Use of pencil is not allowed.
- Candidates are not provided the facility of re-evaluation or reassessment for the concerned exam.
- Candidates should leave Examination Hall only after handing over the OMR answer sheet and test booklet to the Invigilator.
- The sheet has 4 circles in front of every question. Candidates need to mark the circle that they feel is the correct response for that particular answer.
- The Optical Mark Reader (OMR) response sheet should be handled carefully by the candidates. They are advised not to fold the response sheet under any circumstances.
- Candidates are required to darken one circle only for each question. If you darken more than one circle for a question, the response to that question will be invalidated and a negative mark will be assigned for that question.
- Do not make any stray marks anywhere on the OMR.
- Candidates shall note that they will not be given a second blank Optical Mark Reader (OMR) response sheet. Hence they are advised to be careful while handling their OMR response sheet.

Choice Filling in Counselling
There is no restriction on the number of choices a candidate can fill. The University advises candidates to fill the maximum number of choices available for their program or CET code.
Choices must be filled in order of preference, not alphabetically. Seat allotment is based on the order of choices submitted and their availability. Candidates cannot add any choices later, so filling the maximum number is important.
Can Choices Be Changed After Submission?
No. Once the last day of online submission of choices or preferences is over, no changes are allowed.
After the last date, the choices filled by the candidate are considered locked. No modifications are permitted at any point after this.
How Are Seats Allotted?
Seat allotment is done on the basis of the candidate's rank and the choices filled. Filling a maximum number of choices increases the possibility of getting a desirable seat.
Creating a Password for Login
There are specific guidelines for creating a password. Candidates must follow them carefully and use the internet browser suggested in the user manual, as login may be difficult from other browsers.
Avoid using the Caps lock key. For capital letters, use the shift key.
Wrong Roll Number or Password on Login Screen
This can happen if the Roll Number or Testing ID typed is incorrect, or if the password is incorrect. The password is case sensitive, so it must be filled exactly as it was created.
If the password is forgotten, a new one can be generated using the "Change password" menu and the security question and its answer.
How to Get a New Password if Forgotten
If a candidate forgets the password, they can use the additional information given at the time of online registration. A new password can be requested using the "Change your Password" option.
Locking Choices for Submission
There is no separate provision for locking choices. The choices submitted and saved by the candidate will automatically be considered locked by the system at 5:00 PM on the last date or the date of choice locking, as mentioned in the Counselling Schedule.
Printout of Filled Choices
During the choice filling period, a candidate can take a printout of their filled choices or preferences. This is done using the "Print your filled Choices" menu.
Documents for Distance Learning Candidates
If a candidate has passed the qualifying examination through the distance or open education system of any recognized university, board, or institution, they must submit necessary documentary evidence.
This includes a certificate from the university imparting open or distance education certifying the location of the study centre.
Seat Distribution for Delhi and Outside Delhi Regions
The seat distribution is generally 85% for the Delhi Region and 15% for the Outside Delhi Region. However, in the case of Self Financing Institutes, the sanctioned intake might include 10% Management Quota seats, which reduces the seats available for general seat allocation.

Why do some students face difficulty in creating a password?
There are specific guidelines for creating the password. Please follow them carefully. Use the internet browser as suggested in the user manual, as it is difficult to log in from some of the other browsers.
Avoid using the Caps Lock key. For capital letters, use the Shift key.
When trying to log in for choice filling or submission, the screen displays the wrong roll number or password. What could be causing it?
This can happen if the Roll Number or Testing ID typed is incorrect, or the password typed is incorrect. The password is case sensitive, therefore fill the password exactly the same as it was while creating it.
In case the password is forgotten, try to generate a new password by using the Change Password menu and using the security question and its answer.
