About
The ACES – Bill Walsh Scholarship awards six annual grants to college and university students who plan to pursue editing as a career. Open to juniors, seniors, and graduate students in any field, the scholarship recognizes academic merit and demonstrated interest in editing. Funded by the ACES Education Fund, it supports students without regard to nationality, residence, or academic concentration. The program aims to encourage the next generation of professional editors in the United States and beyond.
Eligibility
Applicants must be enrolled as college or university juniors, seniors, or graduate students during the fall term of the award year. They must demonstrate a clear interest in editing as a career. The scholarship is open to all nationalities and academic fields. Previous winners of ACES scholarships are not eligible to reapply. No minimum GPA or financial need is specified.
How to apply
Submit an application through the ACES website before the listed deadline. Include a personal statement outlining your interest in editing and career goals. Provide an academic transcript and two letters of recommendation from professors or professional editors. Ensure all materials are submitted by the deadline to be considered. Late or incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
