About
The Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (MGIMS) invites applications for admission to its MBBS course for Indian students. Established by the Kasturba Health Society, MGIMS offers a five-and-a-half-year undergraduate program including a one-year compulsory internship. The institute is recognized by the Medical Council of India and follows a curriculum that combines academic learning with community health exposure. Admission is based on merit in a competitive entrance examination conducted at multiple centers across India. The official page lists the current admission details for the academic year.
Eligibility
Candidates must have passed the 10+2 Higher Secondary Board Examination or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as core subjects. They should have secured at least 50% marks in aggregate for general category and 40% for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/EWS). Students appearing for the qualifying examination in the current academic year are also eligible to apply. There are no income restrictions for this admission process.
How to apply
Obtain the prescribed application form from the official MGIMS website or designated centers. Fill in the form with required details, attach necessary documents such as mark sheets, certificates, and passport-sized photographs, and submit it before the deadline. The entrance examination is held at specified centers including Nagpur, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Varanasi, and Kolkata. Selected candidates will be called for counseling based on their merit in the entrance test.
