About
The Ph.D/M.Sc. admissions, 2016 – National Brain Research Centre programme offers admission opportunities for Indian students to pursue a Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Neuroscience. Candidates may qualify through either the Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Science (JGEEBILS) conducted by NCBS/TIFR, or the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) for selected subjects. The selection process includes a written test followed by an interview, and successful applicants receive a seat in the NBRC research environment. Applications must be submitted online by the stated deadline, and applicants should upload academic transcripts, proof of citizenship, and any required test scores. Detailed instructions and the application portal are available on the official NBRC page.
Eligibility
The scheme is open to Indian nationals who have completed a relevant bachelor's degree (for M.Sc.) or a master's degree (for Ph.D.) with satisfactory academic performance. Candidates from any category may apply, provided they meet the minimum marks required by the screening examinations. Applicants must also satisfy any additional criteria specified by the National Brain Research Centre.
How to apply
Visit the official National Brain Research Centre website to access the online application portal. Register for the chosen screening exam (JGEEBILS or GATE), upload the required documents, and pay any applicable fee before the deadline of 13 December 2015. After submission, monitor the portal for exam dates and interview notifications. Ensure that all PDFs are clear and that the personal details match your identification documents.
