The Study in Iraq Program – Scholarships Scheme is a government‑funded initiative that allows Indian students and researchers to study or conduct research at Iraqi higher‑education institutions. The scheme is administered by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in partnership with host Iraqi universities, which provide full tuition waivers and related support. Applicants may enroll in undergraduate, postgraduate or doctoral programmes, or join research projects in fields such as engineering, medicine, humanities and social sciences. The scholarship covers tuition, accommodation and a modest living allowance, as detailed on the official page, and the application deadline is 15 June 2023.

Indian nationals who have completed the relevant preceding academic level (high school for undergraduate, bachelor’s degree for postgraduate, master’s for doctoral) are eligible. Candidates must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 60 % (or equivalent) and meet any language requirements specified by the host university. The scheme is open to all categories, including SC, ST, OBC, EWS and PwD, provided the academic criteria are satisfied.

Assemble required documents such as academic transcripts, passport copy, proof of English or Arabic proficiency, recommendation letters and, for researchers, a research proposal. Fill the form in English, attach the scanned documents and submit them through the online portal or the email address indicated in the brochure. Ensure the complete package is received before 15 June 2023.
