About

The Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students supports meritorious students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue higher education. It provides financial assistance to help cover day-to-day expenses while studying for graduate, postgraduate, or professional degrees. The scheme is administered by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, and is awarded based on performance in the Higher Secondary/Class XII Board Examination.

Eligibility

Open to Indian students who have passed Class XII from recognized boards. Applicants must belong to economically weaker sections as defined by government norms. Selection is merit-based, determined by marks obtained in the qualifying examination. Priority is given to students pursuing general degree courses, professional courses, or integrated programs. Reserved categories such as SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwD, and DNT may receive additional consideration as per government guidelines.

How to apply

Apply online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) at scholarships.gov.in. Register with basic details, verify documents, and submit the application before the deadline. Required documents typically include Class XII marksheet, income certificate, caste certificate (if applicable), and disability certificate (for PwD candidates). Ensure all information is accurate to avoid rejection.
