About

The Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme 2026-2027 funds students from developing Commonwealth countries, including India, to study full-time Master's degrees in the UK. It is a partnership between the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission and UK universities, aimed at individuals who can contribute to positive change in their home countries. The scholarship covers tuition and living costs, allowing scholars to gain advanced skills in development-focused fields. Priority is given to candidates who demonstrate leadership potential and a commitment to community or national development.

Eligibility

Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of a developing Commonwealth country and hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) standard. The scholarship is open to candidates who are unable to study in the UK without financial support. Priority is often given to applicants from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, including those from SC, ST, OBC, EWS, or PwD categories. Some courses may require relevant work experience.

How to apply

Apply directly through the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission’s online system. Select a UK university and a development-related Master's course that is part of the scheme. Submit academic transcripts, references, and a development impact statement. Ensure all documents meet the stated requirements. The official page lists the current application form and supporting documents needed.
