The DRDO Scholarship Scheme for Girls supports female students pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate degrees in aerospace, aeronautical, space, rocket, avionics, or aircraft engineering. It is offered by India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) through its Aeronautics Research and Development Board (AR&DB). The scheme aims to encourage women to enter technical fields critical to national defence and aerospace research by providing financial assistance and recognition.

Female candidates who are Indian nationals can apply. Applicants must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate programme in specified engineering disciplines at an AICTE-recognised institution. There is no income limit, but candidates must have a minimum of 60% marks in their qualifying examination. Preference may be given to candidates from reserved categories such as SC, ST, OBC, EWS, or PwD.

Applications are accepted online through the official portal of the RAC (Recruitment and Assessment Centre) at rac.gov.in. Candidates must register, fill in academic and personal details, upload required documents such as mark sheets and identity proof, and submit the application before the closing date. No offline applications are accepted. Ensure all details are accurate to avoid disqualification.
