About
The Ministry of Science and Technology’s CURIE scholarship supports postgraduate studies for women’s colleges under the Consolidation of University Research for Innovation and Excellence in Women Universities programme. It is aimed at strengthening research capacity in women‑only postgraduate institutions across India. The scheme provides a total grant of Rs.200 lakh, as indicated on the official portal, to eligible colleges for faculty‑led research projects and related academic activities. Applications are invited from eligible institutions that meet the programme’s eligibility criteria and submit a detailed project proposal. Funding is disbursed in accordance with the Department of Science & Technology’s guidelines.
Eligibility
Eligibility is limited to postgraduate programmes offered by women’s colleges that are recognised by the University Grants Commission. The institution must be located in India and must submit a research proposal that aligns with the CURIE objectives. Faculty members leading the project should hold a relevant postgraduate degree and meet any academic performance standards set by the Department of Science & Technology. Only institutions that satisfy these criteria may receive the grant.
How to apply
To apply, visit the official Ministry of Science and Technology portal and download the CURIE scholarship application form. Prepare the required documents, including the institution’s accreditation certificate, faculty CVs, a detailed research proposal, and a budget plan. Submit the completed form and supporting files either through the online submission portal or by post to the Department of Science & Technology address specified on the website. Follow any additional instructions provided in the notice.
