About
The Cambridge Nehru Scholarships fund Indian students who wish to pursue a Ph.D at the University of Cambridge. Administered by the Nehru Trust for Cambridge University in partnership with the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust, these scholarships support full-time doctoral research in any field. Awards cover University and College fees at the home rate, a maintenance allowance, and a return airfare for the duration of the programme, which can be up to three years.
Eligibility
Applicants must be Indian citizens normally under 30 years of age. They should hold a first-class honours degree or its equivalent from a recognised Indian university. Candidates already pursuing a Ph.D at Cambridge are not eligible. Selection is based on academic merit and the quality of the proposed research.
How to apply
Obtain the Preliminary Application Form by sending a self-addressed envelope (25 cm × 10 cm) to the Nehru Trust for Cambridge University, Teen Murti House, New Delhi – 110011. Submit the completed form along with supporting documents—degree certificates, transcripts, research proposal, and two academic references—by the date listed on the official page. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview.
