The Defence Terrain Research Laboratory (DTRL) offers a Junior Research Fellowship for motivated candidates interested in terrain-related research under DRDO. This fellowship supports individuals pursuing advanced studies while working in a research environment at DTRL’s Metcalfe House campus in Delhi. Selected candidates are encouraged to register for a Ph.D. but must note that the fellowship does not guarantee absorption into DRDO. The laboratory operates under the Defence Research & Development Organisation, a Ministry of Defence entity.

Applicants must hold an M.Sc. degree in Earth Sciences or a related field with a first-division grade. Candidates should be below 28 years of age. There are no specific income or category-based reservations mentioned for this fellowship. Preference may be given to candidates with prior research experience or publications in relevant fields.

Interested candidates should prepare a detailed application with academic transcripts, a research proposal, and supporting documents. The official page lists the current award amount and any additional requirements. Applications must be submitted as per the instructions provided on the official portal before the deadline. No direct absorption into DRDO is implied upon completion of the fellowship.
