About
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2014 is a national-level examination for students seeking admission to Master’s and Doctoral programs in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, and Science. It is conducted annually by one of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) on behalf of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and other government bodies. Qualifying GATE opens doors to postgraduate courses with scholarships or assistantships funded by the government. The GATE 2014 score remains valid for two years from the date the results are announced. The exam is conducted entirely in online mode, with some papers held across multiple sessions.
Eligibility
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, or a Master’s degree in Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields. There is no upper age limit. Applicants must meet the qualifying marks set by the organizing institute. Reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD) may have relaxed eligibility criteria as per government norms.
How to apply
Visit the official GATE 2014 website to register online. Fill in personal, academic, and contact details, then upload required documents such as photograph, signature, and certificates. Pay the application fee through the available payment modes. After submission, download and print the confirmation page for future reference. Ensure all details are accurate to avoid disqualification.
