About

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2017 is a national-level undergraduate entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to engineering programs at NITs, IIITs, and other centrally funded technical institutions (CFTIs) in India. It is primarily for students who have completed or are appearing in their 12th standard examination and wish to pursue undergraduate engineering courses. JEE Main serves as the first stage for admission to IITs through JEE Advanced, while also determining eligibility for state engineering colleges and private institutions based on their ranks.

Eligibility

Candidates must have passed the 12th standard or equivalent examination in 2016 or 2017. For admission to IITs/NITs/IIITs and other CFTIs, general category candidates must secure at least 75% marks in the 12th examination or rank in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards. For SC/ST candidates, the qualifying marks are 65%. There is no weightage given to 12th standard marks in the JEE Main 2017 rank calculation.

How to apply

Candidates need to register online on the official JEE Main portal. Fill in personal, academic, and communication details, upload required documents, and pay the application fee through available payment modes. After submission, download and print the confirmation page for future reference. Ensure all details are correct to avoid disqualification.
