About
The Center for Educational Development of Minorities (CEDM) scholarship supports minority students in Andhra Pradesh to overcome socio-economic barriers in education. Established in 1994 at Nizam College, Hyderabad, CEDM is a nodal agency under Osmania University, funded by the state government. Since its inception, the center has implemented multiple projects aimed at improving educational access and outcomes for minority communities, including Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, and Parsis. The scholarship seeks to address systemic disadvantages faced by these groups through targeted financial and academic assistance.
Eligibility
Students belonging to notified minority communities such as Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, and Parsis are eligible. Applicants must be permanent residents of Andhra Pradesh. The scheme is open to students at all levels of education—school, undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional courses. Income criteria may apply as specified on the official page. Academic merit or financial need, as defined by the center, is also considered.
How to apply
Eligible students must submit an application through the official CEDM portal or designated government scholarship platform. Required documents typically include proof of minority status, residence certificate, income certificate, academic transcripts, and a recent photograph. Applications are reviewed by a selection committee at the center. Shortlisted candidates may be called for verification or interview. The official page provides the current application form, instructions, and submission deadlines.
