About
The Department of Biotechnology invites research proposals in Medical Mycology for scientists and investigators actively working in the field. This initiative supports studies on invasive fungal strains and infections prevalent in India, including Candida tropicalis, Aspergillus flavus, Zygomycetes, and Cryptococcus neoformans. The focus areas include molecular epidemiology, pathogenesis, and mechanisms of antifungal resistance to address critical gaps in medical mycology research in the country.
Eligibility
Open to investigators and scientists engaged in medical mycology research. Applicants must be affiliated with recognized institutions or universities in India. There are no specific income or marks criteria; however, preference may be given to proposals involving multicentre consortia. Researchers from SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwD, and DNT categories are encouraged to apply.
How to apply
Submit research proposals in the prescribed format to the Department of Biotechnology. Ensure the proposal highlights the study’s relevance to medical mycology and aligns with the specified thrust areas. Include a detailed budget and timeline. Proposals may be submitted online or offline as per the official guidelines listed on the scheme’s page.
