The IIT Madras Summer Fellowships Programme is a two-month research immersion open to Indian students who have completed at least two years of undergraduate study or are in the first year of postgraduate programmes. Participants work on a goal-oriented mini-project under IIT Madras faculty guidance, gaining exposure to academic research methods and tools. The programme aims to build research aptitude and encourage high-quality scholarship among young learners.

Students in the third year of a Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Technology, Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Integrated Master of Engineering, Integrated Master of Technology, first year of Master of Science, Master of Business Administration, or third year of Bachelor of Arts with a consistently strong academic record are eligible. Selection is based on academic merit; no income or category-based reservations are specified.
