About
The Centre for Cultural Resources and Training – Award of Scholarships to Young Artists (SYA) supports Indian students aged 18 to 25 who are pursuing training or practice in Indian classical music, Indian classical dance, theatre, mime, visual arts, folk, traditional and indigenous arts, and light classical music. This government scholarship aims to nurture young talent by providing financial assistance for advanced learning and skill development in cultural fields. The scheme is administered by the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
Eligibility
Open to Indian citizens aged 18 to 25 as of the application deadline. Applicants must have completed at least a basic training or equivalent in their chosen cultural field. There is no minimum marks requirement, but preference may be given to candidates from economically weaker sections, SC, ST, OBC, EBC, DNT, and PwD categories. Students at all study levels—school, college, or pursuing professional training—are eligible.
How to apply
Applications must be submitted offline. Obtain the application form from the CCRT website or designated offices. Fill in the form with required details, attach necessary documents such as age proof, educational certificates, and training certificates, and submit it in person or by post to the specified address before the deadline. Ensure all documents are attested and the form is signed by a recognized authority in the cultural field.
