About
The Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) for students seeking admission to postgraduate management programmes in India. It provides two opportunities each year for candidates to qualify and secure a seat in MBA, PGDM, and similar courses across AICTE-approved institutions. CMAT assesses candidates in areas such as quantitative techniques, logical reasoning, language comprehension, and general awareness to evaluate their aptitude for management education.
Eligibility
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university. There is no minimum percentage requirement specified by AICTE, but individual institutes may set their own criteria. Final-year undergraduate students are also eligible to apply. No specific category-wise reservations or income limits are mentioned by AICTE for appearing in CMAT. However, candidates must ensure they meet the eligibility norms of the institutes they wish to apply to.
How to apply
Register online on the official CMAT portal. Fill in personal, academic, and contact details accurately in the application form. Upload a recent passport-sized photograph and signature as per the specified format. Pay the application fee through the available payment modes. After submission, download and print the confirmation page for future reference. Ensure all details are correct before final submission as corrections may not be permitted later.
