About

The ICMR School of Public Health offers a two-year Master of Public Health (Epidemiology and Health Systems) programme for medical graduates. The course is conducted by the National Institute of Epidemiology in Chennai in partnership with the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram. It trains doctors in epidemiology, health systems research, and public health management to strengthen India’s disease surveillance and health policy response. The curriculum combines classroom teaching, field work, and a dissertation to build practical skills in outbreak investigation, programme evaluation, and health systems strengthening.

Eligibility

Applicants must hold an MBBS degree from a recognised Indian or foreign university. There is no upper age limit. The Institute may specify minimum marks or additional entrance requirements in the information brochure; candidates are advised to check the current eligibility criteria on the official website.
