Run by SWAYAM Charitable Trust, a not-for-profit founded by Dr. Ajai Chowdhry and his family, the scholarship helps first-year B.Tech. students cover tuition and related costs. It is designed for those who demonstrate need and academic promise but lack the means to complete their degree without assistance.

Applicants must be joining the first year of a B.Tech. program at one of the 11 specified engineering institutions. Annual family income from all sources should not exceed ₹6 lakh. There is no requirement for a minimum percentage in qualifying exams. Students from all categories—General, OBC, EBC, SC, ST, EWS, DNT, and PwD—are eligible to apply.
