About
The Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship supports meritorious girl students from minority communities in India to continue their undergraduate studies. The scholarship recognizes academic merit and provides financial assistance to help these students complete their education without interruption. It was launched in 2003 by the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee during the National Conference on Educational & Economic Development of Minorities. The scheme aims to empower minority girls by reducing financial barriers in higher education.
Eligibility
Girl students belonging to notified minority communities (Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, and Zoroastrians) can apply. Applicants must be studying in Class 11 or 12, or in an undergraduate course at a recognized institution in India. They should have secured at least 50% marks in the previous qualifying examination. The annual family income from all sources should not exceed the limit specified on the official scholarship page.
