About
The Board of Professional Entrance Examinations Jammu and Kashmir (BOPEE) conducts entrance tests for admission to professional courses like medical and engineering in the state. It is for students from Jammu and Kashmir who seek admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programs in these fields. Established to bring transparency and standardization to entrance examinations, BOPEE organizes tests in a structured manner, aligning with practices followed across India. Before 1987, these selections were managed by a government department as an additional task. Recognizing the growing number of applicants, the state government created a dedicated examining body in 1987 to ensure fair and orderly conduct of these critical exams.
Eligibility
Open to permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir. Applicants must meet the academic eligibility criteria set for the specific professional course they are applying for, such as minimum marks in qualifying examinations. Reserved category candidates (SC, ST, OBC, EWS, etc.) must provide valid certificates as per state government norms. Economically weaker sections may also apply with relevant income certificates. Persons with disabilities (PwD) are eligible if they meet the specified criteria.
How to apply
Visit the official BOPEE website to check the current application process and deadlines. Fill out the application form online, providing accurate personal and academic details. Upload required documents such as domicile certificate, caste certificate (if applicable), income certificate, and disability certificate (if applicable). Pay the application fee through the available payment modes. Submit the form before the last date and retain a copy of the confirmation for future reference.
