About
The Education Means Based Grants, provided by the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, offer financial support to students in Mumbai whose families face economic challenges. This grant helps cover study-related expenses for students at all levels, from school to higher education. Selection is based on socioeconomic criteria rather than academic performance alone. The Trust assesses applications to determine eligibility and the amount of support granted. Priority is given to applicants from economically weaker sections who demonstrate genuine financial need.
Eligibility
Open to students enrolled in any recognized educational institution in Mumbai. Applicants must belong to economically disadvantaged families and provide proof of income. Priority is often given to candidates from SC, ST, OBC, EBC, EWS, or PwD categories. Some grants may also consider applicants from DNT communities. Students must have paid their current year’s fees before applying.
How to apply
Submit a detailed application form along with attested photocopies of mark sheets, income proof, fee receipts, identity cards, and PAN cards. Ensure all documents are verified and submitted before the annual deadline. Applications should be sent directly to the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust’s office. Avoid applying for both a scholarship and a means-based grant simultaneously, as dual applications are not accepted.
