The IITB-Monash Research Academy – PhD Scholarships fund doctoral research projects jointly supervised by the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) and Monash University, Australia. It is for Indian students who want to pursue a PhD in science, engineering or related fields and who are ready to split their time between campuses in India and Australia.

Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in engineering, science or a related discipline with a minimum of 60 % marks or an equivalent CGPA. There is no income ceiling, but candidates should be prepared to relocate to both IIT Bombay and Monash University during their candidature. OBC-NCL, SC, ST, EWS and PwD categories are encouraged to apply.

Start by submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) form online before the published deadline. The EOI asks for academic transcripts, a research proposal outline and referee details. After shortlisting, selected candidates will be invited to submit a full application for the joint PhD program. Queries can be emailed to students@iitbmonash.org.
