About
The India-Japan Cooperative Science Programme (IJCSP) is a government‑funded initiative that enables Indian researchers to partner with Japanese scientists on joint research projects and workshops. It is jointly administered by the Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. The programme aims to strengthen bilateral scientific collaboration by providing funding for collaborative activities across all disciplines. Eligible proposals may cover joint research, joint workshops, seminars, and related activities, and are evaluated on scientific merit and the potential for sustained partnership between the two countries.
Eligibility
Eligibility: Indian researchers and scientists at any career stage—including faculty, post‑doctoral fellows, and research scholars—may apply. The scheme is open to all disciplines and does not impose income, caste, or academic score thresholds. Applicants must be affiliated with an Indian research institution or university and must propose a collaborative activity with a Japanese counterpart approved by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science.
How to apply
How to apply: Visit the official DST‑JSPS web page for the India‑Japan Cooperative Science Programme to download the latest call notice. Register on the portal, prepare a joint research or workshop proposal in consultation with a Japanese partner, and obtain the required institutional approvals. Submit the complete application package through the online system before 5 June 2025, and retain the acknowledgement receipt for future reference.
