About
The Killam Doctoral Scholarships at the University of British Columbia support outstanding international and domestic PhD students conducting advanced research. The scholarship provides funding to help scholars focus on their research projects and contribute meaningfully to their academic fields at UBC. Established in honor of Izaak Walton Killam and Dorothy J. Killam, the program aims to recognize and nurture excellence in doctoral education.
Eligibility
Applicants must be registered or intending to register full-time in a UBC PhD program. They should have completed no more than 24 months of doctoral study as of the scholarship start date. The selection committee evaluates academic excellence, research potential, and the quality of the proposed research project. There are no specific income or mark thresholds, but strong academic records and research proposals are essential.
How to apply
Apply through the UBC Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies office by the deadline listed on the official scholarship page. Submit a completed application form, academic transcripts, a research proposal, and letters of reference. Ensure all documents meet the formatting and submission guidelines provided by UBC. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
