About
The Pre Matric Scholarships Scheme for Minorities supports students from minority communities studying in Classes 1 to 10. The scheme aims to encourage parents to send their children to school, reduce financial burdens, and help students complete their school education. It also provides a foundation for higher educational opportunities and competitive employment.
Eligibility
Students from notified minority communities (Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, and Zoroastrians) studying in Classes 1 to 10 are eligible. The annual family income must not exceed the threshold specified by the Ministry of Minority Affairs. Students must have secured at least 50% marks in their previous examination. Preference is given to students from economically weaker sections.
How to apply
Apply online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). Register on the portal, fill in the required details, and upload necessary documents such as income certificate, community certificate, and previous year's marksheet. Submit the application before the deadline specified on the portal. Ensure all details are accurate to avoid rejection.
