About
The American Association of University Women (AAUW) International Fellowships support women from countries outside the U.S. who wish to pursue graduate studies or postdoctoral research in the United States. Open to all academic disciplines, these fellowships provide funding for one year, from July after the application deadline through the following June. The program aims to empower international women scholars by removing financial barriers to advanced education and research opportunities in the U.S.
Eligibility
Women who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents are eligible to apply. Applicants must hold an academic degree equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree and plan to enroll in a full-time graduate or postdoctoral program at an accredited U.S. institution during the fellowship year. There are no restrictions based on nationality, but proficiency in English is required for effective participation in academic programs.
How to apply
Applicants must submit an online application through the AAUW’s official portal, including academic transcripts, letters of recommendation, a CV, and a personal statement outlining career goals and research plans. Proof of English proficiency may also be required. Shortlisted candidates may be asked for additional documentation. The official page lists the current application requirements and submission guidelines.
