About
The Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) invites researchers and innovators to apply for grants that support innovation in biotechnology from early discovery through to large-scale validation. This scheme is open to Indian citizens at all study levels who are working on biotechnology projects with commercial potential. BIRAC, a Public Sector Undertaking under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, provides funding to accelerate research and development in the biotechnology sector.
Eligibility
Applicants must be Indian citizens. The scheme is open to individuals at all study levels, including students, researchers, and professionals. There are no specific income or marks criteria mentioned. Projects should align with biotechnology innovation and have a clear path to commercialization. Priority may be given to proposals that demonstrate strong industry collaboration or scalability.
How to apply
Interested applicants should prepare a detailed proposal outlining the innovation, its stage of development, and the expected outcomes. Submit the proposal through the official BIRAC portal before the deadline. Ensure all required documents, such as project plans, budgets, and letters of support, are included. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
