The Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students – 2012 supports meritorious students from economically weaker sections to pursue higher education in India. This government scholarship is open to students enrolled in recognized undergraduate, postgraduate, or professional degree programs across colleges and universities in the country. It aims to reduce financial barriers and encourage academic excellence among deserving candidates from all social backgrounds.

Students who have passed Class 12 from a recognized board with at least 80th percentile marks in the relevant stream are eligible. The annual family income should not exceed the threshold set by the government. The scheme is open to all categories including General, SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and PwD. Students must be pursuing regular degree courses and not correspondence or distance education programs.

First, verify eligibility based on marks and income criteria. Then, collect your bank account details and obtain the RTGS/NEFT branch code from your bank manager. Complete the online application form and submit it. After submission, download and print the application form along with the joining report generated online. Keep a copy for your records and submit the printed documents to your institution as required.
