About
The CIFAR Azrieli Global Scholars Program supports outstanding early-career researchers worldwide who are within five years of starting a full-time research position. Through this program, scholars join interdisciplinary CIFAR research programs tackling key questions in science and society. The initiative fosters collaboration across natural sciences, biomedical fields, social sciences, and humanities. Each year, selected scholars work alongside leading researchers to advance innovative solutions to global challenges. The program emphasizes interdisciplinary exchange and leadership development in research.
Eligibility
Applicants must hold a PhD (or equivalent) and be within the first five years of starting a full-time research position at a higher education or research institution. Postdoctoral fellows are not eligible. Researchers from any country may apply. Their work should align with the themes of an active CIFAR research program. There are no restrictions based on nationality, gender, or academic discipline, provided the research fits within the program’s focus areas.
How to apply
Eligible candidates must submit an application through the official CIFAR portal before the published deadline. The application includes a research proposal, CV, letters of recommendation, and a statement of fit with a CIFAR research program. Shortlisted applicants may be invited for interviews or additional evaluations. Detailed instructions and required documents are listed on the official program overview document. Ensure all materials meet the specified format and submission guidelines.
