About
The Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) is a national-level test for students who wish to pursue postgraduate design programmes at top Indian institutions. It is required for admission to the Master of Design (M.Des) programme at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, and IISc Bangalore. CEED assesses a candidate’s design aptitude, creativity, and problem-solving skills, serving as a gateway to specialized design education in the country.
Eligibility
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Architecture, or Design. Alternatively, a professional diploma in Interior Design from CEPT (5-year programme) or a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) professional course is acceptable. There are no age or income restrictions, but admission to participating institutes depends on their individual eligibility criteria and reservation policies as per Government of India norms.
How to apply
Candidates must register and apply online through the official CEED examination portal. The application requires personal details, academic records, and a scanned photograph and signature. After submission, download and print the admit card when released. On the exam day, carry the admit card and a valid ID proof to the designated test centre. Final selection and scholarship details are managed separately by the admitting institutions.
