About
CSIR-AcSIR invites applications for its Ph.D. programme for candidates who wish to pursue advanced research in physical sciences, particularly in geophysics, geology, physics, and mathematics. The programme is offered by the National Geophysical Research Institute, a leading research institute under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), in collaboration with the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR). It is designed for individuals with a Master's degree and a valid national-level fellowship, providing an opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research under the guidance of CSIR scientists.
Eligibility
Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Physical Sciences, preferably in geophysics, geology, physics, or mathematics. They should possess a valid national-level fellowship from agencies such as CSIR, UGC, DST, or INSPIRE. Additionally, CSIR scientists recruited from 2009 onwards, existing research fellows, and project assistants working in CSIR labs for at least one year are also eligible to apply.
How to apply
Eligible candidates must apply through the official AcSIR portal. They should submit the application form along with required documents, including proof of educational qualifications, fellowship award letter, and any other supporting certificates. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview or written test as part of the selection process. For detailed instructions, refer to the official page listed by AcSIR.
