About
The Department of Biotechnology-Biotech Industrial Training Programme (BITP) 2015-2016 is a government initiative for biotechnology students to gain practical industry experience. Managed by Biotech Consortium India Limited (BCIL), BITP pairs trainees with industry experts to work on real projects. The programme aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and industrial application, enhancing employability for biotech graduates.
Eligibility
Open to biotechnology students at all levels—undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral. There are no strict marks or income criteria; selection is based on academic performance and project relevance. Candidates must be Indian nationals. Preference may be given to students from SC, ST, OBC, EWS, or PwD categories, as per government norms.
How to apply
Applications are submitted online through the official programme page listed by DBT. Candidates must fill the form with academic details, project preferences, and supporting documents. Shortlisted applicants are called for interviews or group discussions. Final selection is based on merit and project alignment. No offline applications are accepted.
