About
The IISc-Summer Fellowship in Science and Engineering is a research internship for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students. It allows eligible students to work on summer research projects under the supervision of Indian Institute of Science faculty members in Bangalore. The program is designed to give early-stage researchers exposure to advanced scientific and engineering work.
Eligibility
Students in the first year of a Master’s in Science or the third year of a Bachelor’s in Engineering/Technology (or equivalent) can apply. Applicants must belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) category. There are no specified income or marks thresholds; selection is based on academic merit and research potential.
How to apply
Apply through the official Indian Institute of Science portal when the application window is open. Submit academic transcripts, caste certificate, and a statement of purpose. Shortlisted candidates may be called for an interview or additional documentation. The exact process and required documents are listed on the IISc website.
