The IIT Madras Summer Fellowship Programme offers Indian students in engineering, science and management disciplines an opportunity to carry out short-term research at IIT Madras during the summer. It is open to students who have completed at least two years of their undergraduate programme or are in the first year of a master’s programme. Each fellow receives a stipend for a maximum period of two months to cover living expenses while working on a research project under the guidance of IIT Madras faculty members.

Applicants must be Indian nationals. They should be in the third year of a B.E., B.Tech., B.Sc. (Engineering), Integrated M.E. or M.Tech. programme, or in the first year of an M.Sc., M.A. or MBA programme. Selection is based on academic performance; no specific income or percentage criteria are stated by the institute.

Candidates must fill the application form, upload academic transcripts and a statement of purpose, and provide the contact details of one academic referee. Shortlisted applicants will be informed by email and called for a brief interview or interaction.
