About
The Pragati Scholarship Scheme 2026‑27 provides a one‑time financial assistance of Rs 50,000 to girl students pursuing diploma or degree programmes in technical education. Implemented by the All India Council for Technical Education, the scheme aims to empower women by reducing financial barriers and encouraging their participation in engineering, technology and related fields. Recipients receive the grant directly to support tuition, books and other study expenses. The scholarship is part of a broader government effort to promote gender equity in higher education, and applications are accepted until 31 October 2026 through the official portal. Detailed guidelines are available on the AICTE website.
Eligibility
Indian female students who are enrolled in an AICTE‑approved diploma or degree programme in engineering, technology or allied fields are eligible. Applicants must have passed the qualifying examination with at least 60 % aggregate (or the percentage prescribed by AICTE) and should be residing in India at the time of application. There is no restriction based on caste, tribe or economic category, but the candidate must meet any additional criteria mentioned in the official guidelines.
How to apply
Visit the AICTE scholarship portal linked on the official page and download the Pragati Scholarship application form. Complete the form with personal, academic and bank details, and attach a copy of the admission letter, latest mark sheet, and a passport‑size photograph. Upload the scanned documents on the portal or submit the printed form at the designated AICTE office before 31 October 2026. After submission, note the reference number for future correspondence and check the portal for award status.
